Hi there, I am Queenie, the creator of Dear Jassa Photography

Thank you so much for visiting my lovely little space. Many clients of mine called me Jassa from Dear Jassa when we first met, so they were a little bit surprised when I introduced myself as Queenie.

I fell in love with capturing moments with a camera in 2010 but did not start specializing in newborns until about five years later. For me, nothing could keep a moment we cherished so much, and helped us reminisce that exact moment like a photograph. I started developing an interest in newborn photography after my second child was born. I realized how much a baby could change in a month. Their little toes, fingers, little features, and even the baby hair on their back only stayed for such a short period of time and I wanted to be able to capture those precious moments badly. Thus, I started learning newborn photography on my own at first, but later on, with the help of a workshop from the best newborn photographer in town and taking mentoring classes from professional photographers in the field, I was determined to perfect my images and deliver them to my clients.

Dear Jassa meant so much more to me than just a name. They were the letters I picked out from the most precious persons in my life, my kids: Jasmine, Isaac, and Tessa. My three little dumplings were the main reason why I started photographing newborns and they were so dear to me that I had to include them in what I loved. The way I take care of my children, the patience I have with them, and the attention I dedicate to them, I do the same for my little clients of Dear Jassa because they are all dear to me. My eldest daughter asked me once why I named my studio Dear Jassa. “Is it because of us?” she asked. I smiled and said yes. But what I didn’t tell her in detail was that every time I had my session, it brought me back to the first time I held you in my arms, feeling your warmth on my chest with tears coming down, and thinking, how I wished this moment would stay. Therefore, I want to thank all my past and prospective clients for giving me the chance to relive that unforgettable day once again.
