About Dear Jassa Photography

Thank you so much for visiting my little space. Many of my clients first knew me as Jassa from Dear Jassa, and were surprised when I introduced myself as Queenie!

I first fell in love with photography in 2010, and about five years later, I found my true calling—newborn photography. As a mother, I quickly realized how fast babies change in their first few weeks. Tiny toes, little fingers, soft hair—those delicate details disappear so quickly. That’s when I knew I wanted to capture those fleeting newborn moments for families, helping them treasure memories they can hold onto forever.

My journey began with self-learning, but I later trained with some of the best newborn photographers in Toronto through workshops and mentoring. Over the years, I’ve dedicated myself to perfecting my craft, creating timeless images for families who trust me with their little ones.

The name Dear Jassa is very close to my heart. It comes from the initials of my three children—Jasmine, Isaac, and Tessa—who inspired me to specialize in newborn photography. Just as I care for my own children with patience and love, I bring that same dedication and care to every newborn session. To me, each baby is just as precious as my own.

When my eldest once asked, “Mom, did you name your studio after us?” I smiled and said yes. What I didn’t explain was that every session takes me back to the moment I first held my babies—feeling their warmth, tears in my eyes, wishing time could stand still. That’s why Dear Jassa Photography is more than a business. It’s a way to relive those cherished memories and to help families capture the beginning of their story.
